On 6 October 2021, during the monthly Principals Association meeting, school principals received training regarding Corporal Punishment Policy. Principals also received an update in regards to grade level advancements as outlined in a document titled Qualification Submission Memo.
Qualification Submissions Memo: Principals were asked to forward this memo to all faculty members as soon as possible.
Corporal Punishment Policy Acknowledgement Receipt: Principals were asked to issue this document to all existing employees, and to ensure that all new employees (including on-call subs, fixed-term temporary, casuals etc) have received, signed, and returned the document to the school office.
For existing employees, it was recommended that group training be provided to review and discuss the document together and then have them sign it. It was also recommended that ongoing observation and training for the improvement of classroom management be provided.
Special Note: HR will ensure that all new school employees receive and sign these documents as part of their HR orientation and onboarding process. HR will also keep a copy of these documents on file.
We ask that principals support this CP training as part of their own school orientation and induction. Principals must sight a copy of the completed form as individuals cannot work within Church Schools without the completion of this training and signed form.
