On 19 April 2023, Malcolm Sheward (Assistant to the PCS Director) delivered training relating to First Aid Responders in Pacific Church Schools.
The key purpose of the training was to help school leaders better understand that:
1. Knowledge of first aid promotes a safer and healthier environment. Having staff and students who are well-equipped with first aid skills contribute to enhancing the safety of the school.
2. Many students experience accidents while they are at school. The accidents might lead to simple injuries, serious wounds or fractures. However, the victim can be given initial assistance until professional medical assistance is given.
3. It is important to have trained staff and students who can utilise their skills and take quick action to treat the affected person. They can apply the right procedures to prevent further complications.
